The Journey to Wellness
Today, many of our food choices, including genetically modified foods without seeds (Frankenfoods) are driven by profit and greet. It is not about what is good and right for the people and the planet.
I attended a conference a few years ago with Bueter, author of the Blue Zone.
The Blue Zone promotes a longevity lifestyle based on:
o Exercise
o Food- mostly plant based; little fish or meat and eating until 80% full
o Lifestyle- a purposeful life; connection with family & friends’ social system instead of isolation and sense of belonging (known as the grandmother effect)
I have fond memories of my grandparents living with us. Someone was home when we got off the school bus. Meals were hot and healthy and the shared stories of the good old days. My grandfather grew the food in the garden and my grandmother prepared it.
A few of My suggestions for Wellness Lifestyle
1.Prevention focused
2.Consume nutrient dense foods (real food) not the processed, packaged foods that monopolize the stores.
3.Natural therapies for being well instead of drug therapies targeted at symptoms or disease. The true legal drug dealers are the “drug” stores and hospitals. It is a plan based on consumption. We see more pharmacies and hospitals than we ever had before; 25% of all ads are “drug” commercials. Why? Because people are sick, they rely on drugs, pills are promoted to fix and ill with a long list of side effect which are simply the effect of consuming the “drug”.
Long term medications (drugs) don’t cure. A pill will not cure the Ill
4. Happiness and Gratitude
What is death is the first symptom? Symptoms are a wake-up call from your body that something is wrong. Listen to your body, it knows you. Seek the natural first.
You have the option to live well by educating yourself instead of medicating.
You can develop new patterns of thinking about your health
You can begin to build your immune system by eliminating toxins (detox and cleansing the body) so that your body can receive the nutrients
